A simple formula for your first affiliate post

You don't need a perfect post — you need a helpful one. This is a simple structure to build a post, Story, or caption around. Fill it in with your own words.

The structure

  1. Personal opening. Something like: "I wanted to share something I've been enjoying lately."
  2. Show the product or routine. A photo of the product, the package, or how it fits into something you already do.
  3. Say why you're sharing it. One honest, personal reason — not a claim about what it treats or fixes.
  4. Call to action. Something like: "You can find it through my link."
  5. Disclosure. "I may earn a commission if you shop through my link."

That's the whole thing. Five short lines, and you're done.

A filled-in example

"I wanted to share something I've been enjoying lately — Dr. Cole's Digestive Balm. I keep it on my nightstand and use it most evenings as part of my wind-down routine. It's become one of those small things I actually look forward to. You can find it through my link — I may earn a commission if you shop through it."

A few things to keep in mind

Keep it personal and specific to your own experience. Avoid saying a product treats, cures, or fixes any condition. Full guidance is on the Affiliate Hub under Sharing Rules.

Use this same structure for a caption, a Story, or even a short conversation. Once it feels natural, you won't need to think about the formula at all.
